Oversight Committee Sets Date for IRS Hearing

May 15, 2013 Issues: Tax Reform

U.S. Representative Rob Woodall will join his colleagues on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to hear testimony from top-ranking Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Treasury Department officials next Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at 9:30AM on Capitol Hill.

“We need to restore Americans’ faith in their government.  Hearings like the one we will have next week are opportunities to get to the heart of how we can fix the wrongs and start punching out the question marks surrounding this IRS issue and the Administration’s handling of it.  I look forward to asking the tough questions on behalf of the concerned constituents in my District and working to get the Obama Administration to live up to its promise to be the most ethical and transparent administration in American history,” Woodall said.

The full committee hearing, entitled “The IRS: Targeting Americans for Their Political Beliefs,” will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing will be streamed live at http://oversight.house.gov.
