Woodall Statement on Bipartisan Repeal of Small Business Tax Provision
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Rob Woodall (R-GA) issued the following statement after the passage of H.R. 674, a bill that would repeal a three percent withholding requirement on small businesses that was originally set to take effect on January 1, 2013.
“Today, the House passed one more bill to peel back excessive government regulation. H.R. 674 eliminates the three percent federal tax withholding provision that would have placed yet another undue burden on American job creators. Found in both the Republican jobs plan and the President’s job proposal, H.R. 674 represents a big idea that both sides of the political aisle can agree upon—that we must create every opportunity for American entrepreneurs to succeed by getting the government out of the way and allowing the free market to work its will. I hope that the Senate will take swift action on this legislation and send it to the President’s desk for his signature.”
