Woodall Statement on his Support for H.J. Res. 59

Sep 20, 2013 Issues: Health

U.S. Representative Rob Woodall (GA 07) issued the following statement regarding his support for H.J. Res. 59, a bill to continue appropriations for fiscal year 2014, defund and delay Obamacare, and ensure the full faith and credit of the United States.

“I tell people all the time, ‘Get involved.  American voters still run America.’  The House vote today to pass a continuing resolution with language attached that delays and defunds Obamacare and ensures the full faith and credit of the United States is a great example of exactly that.  While we all share the goal of preventing the tremendous damage that Obamacare is doing to American families, the American economy, and the American practice of medicine, the path to achieve that goal can take many forms.  Throughout August, the American people made their voice heard that the time to act is now, and the bill to act on is the Continuing Resolution.  That vote happened today; I voted ‘yes’; and the American people’s voice was turned into legislation.  No matter which side of this issue you are on, and no matter which path to victory you would have chosen, you should be encouraged that American voters are still in control of the U.S. House of Representatives.  The debate and the fight now moves to the United States Senate.  If you believe in our republic as I do, then you must now join me to ensure that American voters exert their control of the U.S. Senate, as well.   One issue, one vote, and one voter at a time, we can ensure that America’s best days are still ahead.”

Woodall represents the Seventh Congressional District of Georgia, which includes the majority of Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.
