WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Democrat-led U.S. House of Representatives moved forward with two appropriations bills while continuing to reject the President’s pleas for enhanced border security initiatives. In a largely party line vote, H.R. 265 passed 243 to 183 and H.R. 267 passed 244 to 180.

Washington, DC – Today, the Democrat-led U.S. House passed the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, which failed to provide requested border security reforms to address the crisis at America’s southern border.

Washington, DC – The House has approved of a funding measure for the remaining federal agencies and departments not previously funded during the annual appropriation process, while also allocating more than $5 billion in funding for border security and barrier construction. U.S. Representative Rob Woodall voted in favor of the measure.

Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. House passed the Conference Report to Accompany H.R. 2, the “Agriculture Improvement Act” to reauthorize and reform multiple programs that support America’s farmers and agricultural communities. The measure extends our farm safety net through 2023, and brings with it much sought-after certainty for many across the country, including Forsyth County and Seventh District farmers.

Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. House unanimously approved H.R. 302, the “Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2018,” which invests in airport improvements, introduces new protections for aviation customers, establishes a framework for drones to promote safety and innovation, and streamlines the certification process for safe aviation components, making it easier for Seventh District manufacturers and aviation suppliers accounting for millions of dollars’ worth of local economic activity to get their products to market faster.

Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed the House Amendment to S. 3021, “America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018” – the bicameral agreement to investment in America’s ports, inland waterways, locks, dams, flood protection, ecosystem restoration, and other water infrastructure. Of particular note to Georgians and businesses across the southeast, the agreement raises the authorized federal share of funds for the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project from $492 million in 2014 to what will now be nearly $732 million to keep it on time and on track.

The measure was unanimously approved by the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee last month, and easily cleared the full House today with a vote of 408 - 2.
