Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives took another large step in its ongoing regulatory relief efforts by passing H.R. 10, the “Financial CHOICE Act,” which among other things, significantly reins in policies implemented by the Dodd-Frank Act. While originally presented as a safeguard against future economic crises, the Dodd-Frank Act instead codified the idea that certain financial institutions were “too big to fail” and made them even bigger while placing unsustainable regulatory burdens on America’s community banks and credit unions – the lifeline for small business owners, entrepreneurs, and economic growth across the country.

WASHINGTON, DC – The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has unanimously approved a bipartisan bill introduced by U.S. Representatives Rob Woodall (R-GA-07) and Julia Brownley (D-CA-26) that would build upon current law that the two originally authored. The Veterans Expanded Trucking Opportunities (VETOPPS) Act, signed into law as part of the FAST Act in December of 2015, removed regulatory barriers for military veterans continuing or beginning work in the trucking industry.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representatives Rob Woodall (R-GA-07) and Jackie Speier (D-CA-14) re-introduced the “Strengthening the Department of Homeland Security Secure Mail Initiative Act (H.R. 2595)” in the U.S. House – where it was overwhelmingly approved last Congress – while U.S. Senator David Perdue (R-GA) is among those leading the charge in the Senate by introducing companion legislation. The measure would update the USCIS Secure Mail Initiative (USCIS SMI) to offer recipients – at no additional cost to the taxpayer – the option of choosing signature-required delivery upon approval and completion.
